The Nissan 300ZX is a legendary sportscar produced across two generations and remains one of the most celebrated models in Nissan’s iconic Z-car lineage. As with all Z-cars, the 300ZX was marketed in Japan as the Fairlady Z. The first generation, known as the Z31, was produced from 1983-1989 and designed by Kazumasu Takagi and his development team, the Z31 offered significant improvements in aerodynamics and performance over its predecessor, the 280ZX. Over the years, the 300ZX has become one of Nissan’s most loved and collectible sportscars, earning accolades such as Motor Trend’s Import Car of the Year (1990) and appearing on Car and Driver’s Ten Best list for seven consecutive years. Today, it is increasingly rare to find an unmodified, low-mileage example of the earlier Z31 generation particularly in 2+2 Turbo Targa form.
