This Caterham Seven Sprint is a charming retro sports car, which remains in as-new condition with little more than running-in mileage. It is powered by a 660cc three-cylinder turbocharged Suzuki, producing 80bhp, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows just 31 miles.

Built to celebrate six decades since the launch of the Lotus Seven, Caterham’s classic tribute was limited to just 60 cars, and was unveiled at the 2016 Goodwood Revival Meeting. Of particular note is the fact that this is only the second example manufactured – recorded as car number 2 of 60 on the dashboard plaque – and the very first customer delivery (as the first remains with Caterham). A 2016 model, but first registered in January 2018, this car has just one owner from new.

The Seven Sprint was an unashamed throwback to a 1960s aesthetic, with the long flared wings, skinny wheels and tyres, and vintage paint colours. The cabin was trimmed in smart Red Leather upholstery, and a stylish wood-rimmed Mota-Lita steering wheel was also added. Weighing in at just 490kg, its engine can launch the Caterham from 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds.

Its bodywork remains in pristine condition, with no dents or other damage. The car has been meticulously stored away from the elements, so there is no corrosion on the chassis or any of the visible components. The retro Camberwick Green paint finish is smooth and glossy, and it is complemented by various polished and chromed metal body trims. The 14-inch steel wheels are finished in Ivory with smart, blemish-free hubcaps.

Stepping inside, the Scarlet Red leather contrasts perfectly with the body colour, and remains in keeping with the 1960s style. The leather upholstery is in superb condition, with no wear or damage, commensurate with its exceptionally low mileage. Its simple red trimmed dashboard is perfect as are all of the rocker switches and the four instrument gauges ahead of the driver.

While this car had its pre-delivery inspection in 2016, it was not road registered until January 2018. The car is running and driving without fault, and the vendor will also have an engine oil change carried out before handover.

Accompanying the car are all the original books and other dealer-supplied items, as well as some specific literature on the Seven Sprint.
